The Colours of Nature is the English edition of the very popular Danish book on plant dyeing, En Farverig Verden (2015). The book is a simple, easy-to-follow guide to getting started with natural dyeing, introducing and giving an overview of colours, plants, fibres and tools along with basic recipes for lasting colours. The primary focus of the book is dyeing on wool but it also briefly introduces other fibres and woven fabrics.

The book is based on the author's personal experiences with natural dyeing and how to achieve beautiful, lasting colours from organic materials. Anne and Louise from G-uld do not only dye beautiful yarns but also welcome people from all over the world to their courses in natural dyeing, held on their farm in southern Denmark. With their combined background in archaeology and graphic design, situated on one of Europe's most important Viking era places, The Colours of Nature is a book for both the beginner and the experienced dyer - one to return to year after year, as the seasons and the dye plants change and grow.
