Colourway

Sägen Ratatosk is a natural, untreated wool yarn with an extra high twist to make it more durable for socks. It's spun from 100% Corriedale and it has a lovely bounce, making it very suitable for textured knits. It works wonderful in colourwork projects too, and though sold as a sock yarn, Ratatosk will knit up very well in lightweight shawls and garments too.

All yarns from Sägen are hand dyed by Lotta H Löthgren, using high quality acid dyes. The colourways are named after creatures, entities, details or ideas from folklore and old stories, and Sägen is the Swedish word for a certain kind of folk story. My aim is to create a palette of colours that are just as beautiful on their own as they are to combine, and that knitters and makers can return to over the years.

This listing is for 100 g skeins. Sägen Ratatosk is also available in 25 g mini skeins, which you'll find here.

The colourways named "Monster" are OOAK shades that are not repeatable - they're the result of experimenting and playing with different dyes and techniques, and I hope the whimsical feel carries along into your projects! All Monsters have a slight discount compared to the standard colourways.
