Mondim is a non-superwash fingering weight yarn made from fine Portuguese wool by Retrosaria Rosa Pomar in Lisbon. It is named after a Portuguese village once famous for its sock knitting cottage industry. Mondim is a great choice for a wide variety of projets, from socks and sweaters to shawls. It has a nice bounce and the 3ply construction gives it a lovely stitch definition. Equally suitable for colourwork and cables or textures.
Most batches of Mondim are exclusively made from the wool of native Campaniça sheep.
